Digital Scrapbooking Day!

Mark your calendars and join Stampin’ Up! at www.MyDigitalStudio.net as we celebrate Digital Scrapbooking Day with a four-day online event, November 4-7. This event is for everyone--demonstrators and customers alike.

Join us for:
  • FREE digital downloads
  • Project ideas
  • Announcement of 2011 My Digital Studio Contest winners

Digital Scrapbooking Day is officially celebrated the first Saturday in November, but Stampin' Up! knows that we're all busy and didn't want us to miss out by limiting the event to one day.  There will be four new digital products for FREE download over the four-day event.  These products will be added to the digital catalog for purchase on November 8, but you want yours free, right?  That's what I thought - so be sure to head over to www.MyDigitalStudio.net during the four-day event to get yours at no charge.

I'll be sharing a card I made with My Digital Studio tomorrow, for those of you not familiar with our digital papercrafting software, so stay tuned.

See you soon,

Big Shot Birthday

Hello fellow crafters,

I have a fun birthday card to share with you today.  I work in a department with only 8 people during the week.  When I started there, I volunteered to make birthday cards for everyone during the year.  Yesterday was Kriste's birthday and this is the card I made for her.

Stamps: Well Scripted, Circle Circus
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder,
Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Wide Oval Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack,
Marina Mist Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I love the WOW factor embossing with the Big Shot adds and it's so quick & easy.  Remember you can get the Big Shot free this month when you sign up to be a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  I'd love to have you in my group of Rubberland Stampers.  Click the Big Shot picture on the left side of my blog for more information.  It's easy to get started, and there's no obligation beyond purchasing the starter kit.

See you soon,

Embedded Embossing

So I checked with my daughter, Kylie, to be sure she got this birthday card, and now I can show it to you.

Stamps: Well Scripted (retired);  Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch,
Extra Large Oval Punch, 3/16" Corner Punch

Kylie turned 21 last week.  Unbelievable to me!  She's at college and rarely gets home anymore, so we miss her like crazy.  She's been around stamping as long as I have, so her card had to be special.  Her favorite color is yellow, so I wanted to be sure that was a big part of it.  But the major "oomph" comes from the Embedded Embossing technique.  It's one of my favorite - easy - WOW techniques.

To achieve the look, you need cardstock (at least two colors), a punch, the Big Shot, and an overall patterned embossing folder (like the Square Lattice).
  • Punch a shape or shapes from one or more colors of cardstock. (I used the Blossom Bouquet Triple punch with Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler)
  • Adhere these to a contrasting color cardstock. (here I used Daffodil Delight)
  • Run the entire piece through your Big Shot with the embossing folder.
This "embeds" the punched shapes into the base cardstock.  It really looks likes it's part of the piece - even in person!  This technique is even easy enough to do for multiple cards - like Christmas cards - where you need a lot of one design.  Just a quick zip through the Big Shot is all it takes to make them say "Wow, you made that?"

And best of all, you can get your own Big Shot FREE this month just by taking Stampin' Up! for a test drive.  Check out the link on the left side of my blog for details.

See you soon,

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

I'm so happy to be back to blogging.  My goal is to post 3 -4 times a week with ideas/projects to keep you inspired, as well as keep you up to date on the latest Stampin' Up! promotions.

I was lucky enough to have a day off of my "day job" today, so I spent part of it finally using my Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps.

These were so easy & so much fun to make, & my son was very happy to have a couple when he got home from school.  The Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps come with a wooden handle and 3 interchangeable stamp designs - Jack-O-Lantern, Snowflake, and Heart.
These cookie stamps are a great addition to your stamping supplies.  They'll work on cookies, fondant, even clay!  And the interchangeable rubber pieces are dishwasher safe.  But don't stop with just yourself, these make perfect gifts for your stamping and non-stamping friends alike.  All the bakers, teachers, and crafters on your list will love these.  Plus you can make a batch of cookies with your own set to give along with the stamps.

Want to see them in action?  Ready to order?  Click here to watch a video or to get a set for you and some of those hard-to-buy-for loved ones on your list this year.
